Construction of a private marina for the berthing of yachts with a design depth of – 8.5 m New Abu Dhabi Datum.
The scope of work included the design (including hydrodynamic modeling and geotechnical investigations), dredging, construction and placing of quay wall blocks which were cast on a pre-cast facility on the site to minimize logistical problems of transporting blocks through Abu Dhabi City, construction of a boat ramp for maintenance purposes and installation of stainless steel quay wall furniture.
NMDC was given a variation to the works in the form of a G+1 ancillary building to house items such as fishing equipment, jet skis, etc. In addition, the upper floor was used as an accommodation for visiting guests.
225,000m³ in dense sand dredging
Marina: 750 m quay wall (2500 nr blocks, maximum weight 21.1 tonnes) complete with cast in situ capping beam and rock scour protection.
Quay Wall Furniture: Stainless steel including aluminum gangway ramps and floating pontoons
