Our specialist knowledge, expertise and equipment in dredging and marine construction have significantly enhanced the regional infrastructure, enabling the distribution and export of oil, while at the same time preserving the ecological environment. NMDC began as an entity that was wholly funded by the State, however it is now currently 65% publicly owned and registered and listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. NMDC’s business is conducted from our modern premises, which include multi-disciplinary workshops, slipways and fully supported administration and technical departments, located in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi 

Our talented and experienced professionals have a broad range of management, engineering and technical skills. Together, this enables us to successfully deliver the most challenging and difficult projects. The Upper Zakum, exemplifies this as a project which involved the construction of four industrial islands amongst a complex array of pipelines, and extensive marine civil engineering work, to serve as a platform from where ZADCO (one of the leading oil companies) could significantly increase its oil production.We have, over the years, established a comprehensive and fully deployed process management approach in delivering solutions to all our esteemed customers. We have a well defined end-to-end high level process map, with precise start and end points, inputs and outputs for each process. All processes are detailed and meticulously flowcharted down to the minutest detailed sub-process level, and documented within the ORACLE system. The ORACLE based project management system, is blended with our ongoing program of QMS process audits, to assess and refine the overall process definitions. This, to our credit, we believe is the first full-scale implementation of such a system in the dredging industry, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in service delivery.

An extensive range of dredging and civil construction assets have been accumulated by us, and to augment our business we have acquired a precast concrete factory (Emarat Europe), and have established two subsidiaries, NMDC Dredging Industrial, and ADEC Engineering and Design, to further support our expansion plans into civil marine construction. In addition to our extensive offices, plant and workshops, our most important asset is our people with their experience, talent, knowledge, and capability to create and deliver innovative solutions. 

We recognize that our activities could, without careful monitoring, management and control have a potential impact on the marine environment. It has been our constant endeavor to minimize the environmental impact in all the projects we undertake. To ensure this we have had our process audited and certified in conformity with the ISO 14001 environmental management system. 

We also recognize the importance of the intellectual capital that is our PEOPLE, and it has been our endeavor to build and enhance this capability for the growth of the organization. At the same time we care, reward and recognize our PEOPLE and thus spread a culture of sharing, trust, openness and empowerment. We are totally committed to the “Emiritisation” strategy which will lead to an added value contribution of our local Emeriti in achieving the way forward for NMDC.
